Basics
Baseball is a sport that involves two different teams of at least 9 players
A game consist of 9 innings made up of 3 outs
Baseball can be broken up into 3 categories: Hitting, Defense, Pitching
While one team is in the field playing "defense" the other team is "hitting"
Hitting is the offensive portion of the game in which a team tries to get runs
A batter attempts to hit a pitch thrown by the pitcher into play
A team is limited to 3 outs per inning
Outs can be accumulated by: striking out, a fielder tagging you with the ball, a fielder touching the base, and a fielder catching the ball
The defense tries to prevent the offense from getting runs
The fielders have to get 3 outs before the inning is over
There are 9 positions on the field 3 outfielders, 4 infielders, 1 pitcher, and 1 catcher
Fielders must work together to win a game
The pitcher is the most important player on the field
Everything goes off of the pitchers cadence
The pitchers job is to get the batter out
The pitcher must get three strikes to get the batter out
If the pitcher throws 4 balls or hits the batter then the batter gets to occupy 1st base
